Birnin Kebbi, May 2, 2019 (NAN) The Kebbi Government says it has spent more than N700 million on the digitisation of the state-owned television and radio stations.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Sulaiman Gado-Marafa, made this known to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
According to him, the digitisation which is aimed at boosting the services of the stations to cover the entire state is nearing completion.
He said the state Ministry of Information had also upgraded its website where vital information could be accessed by journalists to enhance their performance.
Gado-Marafa said that the ministry had mobilised and sensitised the people in the 225 wards in the 21 local government areas of the state on peaceful co-existence between Fulani herdsmen and the farmers.
He said the ministry had created a synergy among Information Officers, Community Orientation Officers of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and heads of health education departments in the council areas on how to tackle health issues.
The commissioner said that the ministry had also sustained the publication of its Equity Magazine and Mujallah Adila to inform the people about the various government programmes and policies.
“The free flow of information and the open door policy of the incumbent administration, has culminated in the conferment of numerous media and philanthropist awards on Gov. Atiku Bagudu nationwide and beyond,” he said. (NAN)
