Kebbi Govt steps up preparation for Argungu int’l festival, receives committee reports

The main organizing committee for the 2020 Argungu International  fishing and cultural festival held a meeting on Sunday with the various sub-committees for the presentation of cost implications and other related matters.

The meeting chaired by it’s chairman, Alh Samaila Yombe Dabai mni, the Deputy Governor of Kebbi state, held at Deputy Governor’s chamber, cabinet office Birnin kebbi.

The Deputy Governor said the essence of the meeting was to review the main committee’s responsibilities, as well as various sub- committee’s presentations of their proposed cost implications for further necessary actions.

He acknowledged the effort made by the members of the committees over their commitment to present their proposals on time for necessary actions, and for the smooth take off of the 2020 Argungu International fishing and cultural festival.

Alh. Samaila Yombe Dabai, further constituted a five man committee that will work out modalities to ensure transparency and honesty for the proposed  submission of financial implications made to the main committee, for onward action, towards the overall success of the forthcoming festival.

The sub-committees present were:

√ contact sub-committee

√ grand fishing sub-committee

√ Security sub-committee

√ Medical sub-committee

√ Motor rally sub-committe

√ Polo Tournament sub-committe

√ Durbar  sub-committee
